In Passion’s Bed

by Joanna

Sometimes I

Make of my lovers muses

Drink of their words

With berry-stained lips

Kissing away tears

Replacing them with smiles

Stroking simply

The line of a jaw

As comfort ensues

Sometimes I

Settle into the nest of feathers

Down comforter swallowing me

Curling into the soft sleep

That escapes a body at rest

Wandering through dreams

Eloping fantasy and psyche

Mastering the jump

Between here and there

Sometimes I

Roll and twist

Pushing against the pile of pillows

Body writhing with pleasure

Like the lioness of a kingdom at play

My prowess becomes inspired

Senses piqued

Until I burst forth

Into the rivers of desire
