One Lover, Two Dreams

by Joanna

The bards have sung tales
Of desperation
Of joy
The songs of imagination's memory
I find I fall somewhere
In between
Making waves with my step
My chest swells
Fingers tremble
Open again
I drink of your sweat in raindrops
As they cascade
down your face and
into my parted lips
I feel the rush
through your heart
As we ride these crests
We stretch thin across the cosmos
Making first steps all over again
